David Bowie

David Bowie, born David Robert Jones, was a British singer, songwriter and actor, and is considered to be one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. He was the pioneer of glam rock and the inspiration behind the punk rock movement, and through his unique and original visual presentations both on stage and in his videos, he traversed through diverse styles, eras and cultures. During his lifetime, he had sold over a 100 million music records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time, released 11 number-one music albums, received innumerable awards including the Grammies, and was even offered a knighthood, which however he turned down. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame in 2013, and was named the “Greatest Rock Star Ever” after his death in 2016.
