Immanuel Kant

Regarded as one of the great philosophers of his time, Immanuel Kant was known for his principle of humanity. In this principle, he expressed this famous line, “act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of any other, never merely as a means, but always at the same time as an end. This German philosopher was born to a family of harness makers. His parents were Pietist, so he had his education at a Pietist school named Collegium Fridericianum. Though he showed strong reaction against his Pietism, Kant still had deep respect and admiration for his parents.
