John Templeton

Sir John Templeton was a prolific American-born British banker who pioneered in both financial investment and charitable works. He started his financial career in 1938 and penetrated the mutual fund market successfully. Templeton built one of the world's largest international investment funds, Templeton Growth Fund. As a philanthropist, Templeton established the Templeton Prize, an honor given to an individual who made exemplary achievements and contributions in the field of science and human existence. He also donated a large portion of his assets to the Templeton Foundation.
