Meryl Streep

Mary Louise "Meryl" Streep, is an American actress who made her movie debut in 1977 in Julia, and was awarded her first award, the Primetime Emmy Award in 1978 for the miniseries Holocaust. She has been described as “the best actress of her generation”, with a record of 21 Academy Award nominations, winning 3 of them, and 32 Golden Globe Award nominations, winning 8. In 2004 she was awarded the AFI Life Achievement Award by the board of directors of the American Film Institute, and in 2014 she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor from President Barack Obama.
