Narayana Murthy

N. R. Narayana Murthy is the founder of Infosys – India’s second largest IT company, and has served as it’s chairman, CEO, President and chief mentor. He worked in IIM, Ahmedabad as it’s chief systems programmer before starting Infosys in 1981. He stepped down in 2011 and became the chairman emeritus. Narayana Murthy has been listed among the 12 greatest entrepreneurs of our times by Fortune magazine, and has been described as the “father of the Indian IT sector”. He received the Padma Vibhushan and Padma Shri awards in 2008 and 2000 respectively, India’s second and fourth highest civilian awards. His son Rohan, joined Infosys in 2013 as the executive assistant to his father, and his daughter, Akshata, is married to Rishi Sunak, a Yorkshire MP and UK’s Chancellor of the Exchequer.
