Customers..do not take them for granted. They have so many options today it’s ridiculous! Be obsessed about your customers!! Make sure you cascade that down to your employees. Also, have a soft eye on competitors. They are developing products and services for YOUR customers. Know what they’re doing!
The PC is successful because we're all benefiting from the competition with each other. If Twitter comes along, our games benefit. If Nvidia makes better graphics technology, all the games are going to shine. If we come out with a better game, people are going to buy more PCs.
Obviously if you want to get good at something which is competitive, you have to think about it and practice a lot. You have to keep learning because the world keeps changing and competitors keep learning.
My philosophy is that you don't motivate players with speeches; you have motivated players that you draft. That's where they come in, and those are the guys that are competitive. You can not teach competitiveness.
